cвяза́ть [svee-zát'] Verb, perfective. Imperfective - вяза́ть

to knit, to tie up

  • Э́ти ва́режки связа́ла моя́ бабу́шка.

    é-tee vá-reesh-kee svee-zá-la ma-yá bá-bush-ka

    These mittens were knitted by my grandmother.

  • Пле́ннику связа́ли ру́ки.

    The prisoner had his hands tied.

сшить [ssheet'] Verb, perfective. Imperfective - шить

to sew, to sew together, to tailor

  • Бо́льшую часть оде́жды она́ сши́ла себе́ сама́.

    She made (sewed) most of the clothes herself.

вышива́ть [vy-shee-vát'] Verb, imperfective. Perfective - вы́шить

to embroider

  • Она́ вышива́ет кре́стиком и би́сером.

    She does cross-stitching and embroiders with beads.

  • Вышива́ть она́ не люби́ла, так как находи́ла э́то заня́тие бесполе́зным.
