вы́глянуть [vý-glee-nut'] Verb, perfective. Imperfective - выгля́дывать

to look out; to peep out, to appear

  • Со́лнце вы́глянуло и́з-за туч.

    són-tse vý-glee-nu-la eez-za tuch

    The sun peeped out from behind the clouds.

  • Вы́гляни в окно́!

    vý-glee-nee v ak-nó

    Look out the window!

красне́ть [kras-nyét'] Verb, imperfective. Perfective - покрасне́ть

to blush, to flush, to redden

  • Она́ красне́ет, когда́ на неё смо́трят мно́го люде́й.

    a-ná kras-nyé-yet, kag-dá na nee-yó smót-ryat mnó-ga lyu-dyéî

    She blushes when many people look at her.

  • Смотри́ на него́, врёт и не красне́ет.

    smat-rée na nee-vó, vryót ee nye kras-nýe- yet

    Look at him: he is lying and not blushing!

  • Поли́ция идёт по сле́ду престу́пника.

    There is not a trace of the past love left.

туши́ть [tu-shéet'] Verb, imperfective. Perfective - стуши́ть, потуши́ть

(about a fire) to put out, to extinguish; (cooking) to braise, to stew

  • Туши́те о́вощи на ме́дленном огне́ в тече́ние двадцати́ мину́т.

    tu-shée-tye ó-va-schee na myéd-leen-nam ag-nyé v tee-chyé-nee dva-tsa-tée mee-nút

    Simmer the vegetables on low fire for twenty minutes.

  • Пожа́р в населённом до́ме туши́ли 70 пожа́рных.

    pa-zhár v na-see-lyón-nam dó-mye tu-shée-lee syém-dee-syat pa-zhár-nyh

    70 firefighters were extinguishing the fire in the inhabited house.

it's all the same, it doesn't matter, (I) don't care; anyway, still, in any case

  • Мне всё равно́, де́лайте, что хоти́те.

    mnye fsyo rav-nó, dyé-laî-tye chto ha-tée-tye

    I do not care, do whatever you want to.

  • Мы торопи́лись и́зо всех сил, но всё равно́ опозда́ли.

    my ta-ra-pée-lees' ee-za fsyeh seel, no fsyo rav-nó a-paz-dá-lee

    We were rushing as much as we could but still arrived late.

спи́сывать [spée-sy-vat'] Verb, imperfective. Perfective - списа́ть

to copy off, to crib

  • Дома́шку он никогда́ не де́лал, а всё вре́мя спи́сывал.

    da-másh-ku on nee-kag-dá nye dyé-lal, a fsyo vryé-mya spée-sy-val

    He never did his homework but always copied it from others.

  • В шко́ле она́ никогда́ никому́ не дава́ла спи́сывать.

    At school, she never let anyone copy off (from her).
