кише́ть [kee-shét'] Verb, imperfective

to throng, to teem, to swarm, to crawl with

  • Подва́л в э́том до́ме киши́т кры́сами и бог зна́ет чем ещё.

    pad-vál v é-tam dó-mye kee-shéet krý-sa-mee ee boh zná-eet chem ee-schó

    The basement in this house is full of rats and god knows what else.

вре́дничать [vryéd-nee-chat'] Verb, imperfective

to act in spite, contrary to somebody's interests or desires

  • Ну что ты вре́дничаешь?

    Why are you being bad? (Why are you acting in spite?)

  • Хва́тит вре́дничать! Дай сюда́ пульт!

придира́ться [pree-dee-rá-tsa] Verb, imperfective. Perfective - придра́ться

to find fault, to carp, to cavil, to nag, to pick on

  • Что ты к слова́м придира́ешься?

    chto ty k sla-vám pree-dee-rá-eesh-sya

    Why are you picking on words?

  • Она́ ве́чно к нему́ придира́ется по любо́му по́воду.

    She always finds fault with him for any reason.

to indulge, to cater

  • Ко́шка - вредина, не даёт мне споко́йно занима́ться.

    kósh-ka - vryé-dee-na, nye da-yót mnye spa-kóî-na za-nee-má-tsa

    The cat is a villain, she does not let me to study quietly.

кача́ть права́ [ka-chát' pra-vá] Phrase

(slang) persistently demand something referring to one's rights

  • Тут кака́я-то тётка пришла́ и права́ кача́ет.

    tut ka-ká-ya-ta tyót-ka preesh-la ee pra-vá ka-chá-eet

    There is a woman here, she came and demands things.

  • А ты что тут права́ кача́ешь? Ты кто тако́й?

уша́стый [u-shás-tyi] Adjective

big-eared

  • Смотри́, како́й уша́стый зверёк!

    smat-rée ka-kói u-shás-tyi zvee-ryók

    Look, what a big-eared little animal!

  • Из-по́д кре́сла вы́лезла уша́стая соба́ка.

    ees-pat kryés-la vý-leez-la u-shás-ta-ya sa-bá-ka

    A long-eared dog crawled out from under the armchair.
