напеча́тать [na-pee-chá-tat'] Verb, perfective. Imperfective - печа́тать

to print; to type

Examples

Они́ напеча́тали э́ту дета́ль на 3D при́нтере.

a-née na-pee-chá-ta-lee é-tu dee-tál' na tree-de préen-te-rye

They printed this part on a 3D printer.
Нам на́до напеча́тать три ты́сячи листо́вок.

nam ná-da na-pee-chá-tat' tree tý-see-chee lees-tó-vak

We need to print three thousand leaflets.

сожале́ть [sa-zha-lyét'] Verb, imperfective

to pity, to be sorry; to regret

Examples

Лу́чше сожале́ть о сде́ланном, чем о не сде́ланном.

lúch-she sa-zha-lyét' a sdyé-lan-nam, chyem a nye sdyé-lan-nam

It's better to regret what you've done than what you haven't done.
Не прохо́дит и дня, что́бы он не сожале́л о своём посту́пке.

nye pra-hó-deet ee dnya, chtó-by on nye sa-zha-lyél a sva-yóm pas-túp-kye

Not a day passes by that he doesn't regret what he did.

размышля́ть [raz-mysh-lyát'] Verb, imperfective. Perfective - размы́слить

to reflect, to ponder

Examples

Не́сколько мину́т он напряжённо размышля́л, взве́шивая все за и про́тив.

nyés-kal'-ka mee-nút on na-pree-zhón-na raz-mysh-lyál, vzvyé-shee-va-ya fsye za ee pró-teef

He pondered hard for a few minutes weighing the pros and cons.
Ум челове́ка не мо́жет одновреме́нно размышля́ть о не́скольких предме́тах.

um chee-la-vyé-ka nye mó-zhet ad-na-vree-myén-na raz-mysh-lyát' a nyés-kal'-keeh preed-myé-tah

The human mind cannot think about several things at the same time.

висе́ть [vee-syét'] Verb, imperfective. Perfective - повисе́ть

to hang, to be hanging

Examples

Над две́рью висе́ла табли́чка с указа́нием подъе́зда и номера́ми кварти́р.

nad dvyér'-yu vee-syé-la tab-léech-ka s u-ka-zá-nee-yem pad-yéz-da ee na-mee-rá-mee kvar-téer

Above the door there was a sign indicating the entrance and apartment numbers.
Успе́х мероприя́тия висе́л на волоске́.

us-pyéh mee-ra-pree-yá-tee-ya vee-syél na va-las-kyé

The success of the enterprise hung in the balance.

ката́ться [ka-tá-tsa] Verb, imperfective. Perfective - поката́ться, ската́ться

to take a ride or exercise by moving on something; to roll

Examples

Пое́хали ката́ться на ро́ликах в выходны́е?

pa-yé-ha-lee ka-tá-tsa na ró-lee-kah v vy-had-ný-ye

Let's go rollerblading this weekend?
Я так давно́ не ката́лась с го́рки!

ya tak dav-nó nye ka-tá-las' s gór-kee

I haven't slid down the slope in such a long time!

печа́тать [pee-chá-tat'] Verb, imperfective. Perfective - напеча́тать

to print; to type

Examples

Она́ печа́тает на клавиату́ре вслепу́ю.

a-ná pee-chá-ta-eet na kla-vee-a-tú-rye fslee-pú-yu

She can touch type.
Купю́ры печа́тают на специа́льной бума́ге, в кото́рую внедрена́ защи́та.

ku-pyú-ry pee-chá-ta-yut na spee-tsee-ál'-naî bu-má-gye, f ka-tó-ru-yu vnee-dree-ná sa-zhée-ta

The banknotes are printed on special paper in which protection is implemented.

убежда́ть [u-beezh-dát'] Verb, imperfective. Perfective - убеди́ть

to try to convince, to persuade

Examples

Его́ не пришло́сь до́лго убежда́ть.

ye-vó nye preesh-lós' dól-ga u-beezh-dát'

It didn't take long to convince him.
Вчера́ они́ нас убежда́ли соверше́нно в обра́тном.

fchee-rá a-née nas u-beezh-dá-lee sa-veer-shén-na v ab-rát-nam

Yesterday they were trying to convince us of the opposite.

по́мнить [póm-neet'] Verb, imperfective. Perfective - запо́мнить

to remember, to retain, to keep in mind

Examples

Я по́мню тот день, как бу́дто э́то бы́ло вчера́.

ya póm-nyu tot dyen', kak bút-ta é-ta bý-la fchee-rá

I remember that day as if it was yesterday.
По́мня о про́шлом, мы забо́тимся о бу́дущем.

póm-nya a prósh-lam, my za-bó-teem-sya a bú-du-schyem

Remembering the past, we care about the future.

жа́рить [zhá-reet'] Verb, imperfective. Perfective - пожа́рить

to fry, to roast, to grill; to burn, to scorch

Examples

Со́лнце жа́рило безжа́лостно.

són-tse zhá-ree-la beez-zhá-las-na

The sun scorched mercilessly.
Не́которые грибы́ мо́жно жа́рить в све́жем ви́де, други́е то́лько по́сле отва́ривания.

nyé-ka-ta-ry-ye gree-bý mózh-na zhá-reet' f svyé-zhem vée-dye, dru-gée-ye tól'-ka pós-lye at-vá-ree-va-nee-ya

Some mushrooms can be fried fresh, others only after boiling.

разглаго́льствовать [raz-gla-gól'st-va-vat'] Verb, imperfective. Perfective - поразглагольствовать

to talk profusely, to expatiate, to talk on and on, to use lofty phrases

Examples

Мы мо́жем до́лго разглаго́льствовать на э́ту те́му, но пробле́ма таки́м о́бразом не реши́тся.

my mó-zheen dól-ga raz-gla-gól'st-va-vát' na é-tu tyé-mu, no prab-lyé-ma ta-kéem ób-ra-zam nye ree-shée-tsa

We can long rant on this subject, but the problem will not be solved that way.
Он о́чень лю́бит разглаго́льствовать о том, наско́лько некульту́рна ны́нче молодёжь.

on ó-cheen' lyú-beet raz-gla-gól'st-va-vat' a tóm, nas-kól'-ka nee-kul'-túr-na nýn-chye ma-la-dyósh'

He loves to rant about how uneducated the youth these days is.
