      Hi Anita,

It’s Dative plural: нам самим можно попытаться решить проблему.

      • After rearranging the word order, it becomes clear. Thanks. I note that нам is omitted here. But in other usage of сам, eg. Я сама́ зна́ю, что и как де́лать. Can the subject Я be omitted?

Yes, it can and it’s quite common to say “сама знаю”.

However, it just becomes a bit harsher, in my opinion. Like you are so annoyed that don’t even bother to pronounce all the words. 🙂
