Anita says:
Hello, in the first example, could I say Како́го вы разме́ра? Thanks.
Learn Russian Words says:
Hi Anita,
Not really. Such question implies the size of the whole person (for example, “he is a big guy” or “she is a tiny lady”).
Какой у вас размер? is used to ask about the size of cloth or shoes a person is usually wearing. You can think of it as shortened “Какой у вас размер обуви/одежды?” It’s just that the last word is usually omitted because it is clear from context (you are in a cloth or shoes department/store).
