divorce

Examples

Его́ роди́тели в разво́де.

His parents are divorced.

ye-vó zhee-ná pa-da-lá na raz-vót

His wife filed for divorce.

обнима́ться [ab-nee-má-tsa] Verb, imperfective. Perfective - обня́ться

to hug one another, to embrace

Examples

На фо́то ма́ма и до́чка не́жно обнима́ются и ве́село смею́тся.

na fó-ta má-ma ee dóch-ka nyézh-na ab-nee-má-yu-tsa ee vyé-see-la smee-yú-tsa

In the photo, mother and daughter are hugging fondly and laughing happily.

They were kissing and not paying attention to the rain.

to get married

Examples

Ты когда́ успе́л жени́ться?

ty kag-dá us-pyél zhee-née-tsa

When did you have time to get married?
Он жени́лся год наза́д.

on zhee-néel-sya got na-zát

He got married a year ago.

влюбля́ться [vlyu-blyá-tsa] Verb, imperfective. Perfective - влюби́ться

to fall in love

Examples

Говоря́т, что же́нщины влюбля́ются умо́м, а мужчи́ны – эмо́циями.

ga-va-ryát, chto zhén-schee-ny vlyub-lya-yu-tsa u-móm, a muzh-chée-ny e-mó-tsee-ya-mee

They say that women fall in love with the mind, and men with emotions.
Ка́ждый день он влюбля́лся в неё сно́ва и сно́ва.

kázh-dyî den' on vlyub-lyál-sya v nee-yó snó-va ee snó-va

Every day he was falling in love with her again and again.

jealous

Examples

She has a very jealous husband.

You are so jealous as it turns out!
