to warm / to heat oneself

Examples

Мы гре́лись у костра́.

my gryé-lees' u kast-rá

We were warming ourselves by the fire.
На плите́ гре́лся у́жин.

na plee-tyé gryél-sya ú-zheen

The dinner was warming up on the stove.

вы́терпеть [vý-teer-pyét'] Verb, perfective. Imperfective - терпе́ть

to endure, to bear; to undergo, to suffer

Examples

Она́ не вы́терпела и покати́лась со сме́ху.

a-ná nye vý-teer-pye-la ee pa-ka-tée-las' sa smyé-hu

She could not help it and burst into laughter.
Ско́лько всего́ им пришло́сь вы́терпеть!

skól'-ka vsee-vó eem preesh-lós' vý-teer-pyet'

They had to suffer so much!

замёрзнуть [za-myórz-nut'] Verb, perfective. Imperfective - мёрзнуть

to freeze, to congeal, to become frozen

Examples

Пошли́ скоре́е, я замёрзла уже́.

pash-lée ska-ryé-ye, ya za-myórz-la u-zhé

Let's go quickly, I'm cold already.
Застегни́сь, замёрзнешь!

to freeze, to be cold

поступа́ться [pas-tu-pá-tsa] Verb, imperfective. Perfective - поступи́ться

to renounce, to give up, to forgo, to waive

Examples

Ему́ не пришло́сь поступа́ться свои́ми при́нципами.

ye-mú nye preesh-lós' pas-tu-pá-tsa sva-ée-mee préen-tsee-pa-mee

He did not have to give up his principles.
Мы не гото́вы поступа́ться на́шими интере́сами в э́том вопро́се.

case, occasion, chance, event

Examples

В кра́йнем слу́чае, сде́лаем э́то за́втра.

потерпе́ть [pa-teer-pyét'] Verb, perfective. Imperfective - терпе́ть

to be patient, to tolerate, to suffer

Examples

Потерпи́ ещё немно́го, ско́ро прие́дем.

pa-teer-pée ye-schyó neem-nó-ga, skó-ra pree-yé-deem

Wait (be patient) a little bit longer, we arrive soon.
Придётся немно́жко потерпе́ть.

Have to suffer a little.
